Why Does President Zelensky Focus Upon Those Leaders Who Support Him Rather Meeting One Of The Two Leaders Who Matter Most? His Return Flight To Ukraine Must Pass Near A Key Capital

Why Is President Zelensky Focusing Upon Leaders He Has Met And Whose Governments Are Supportive Rather Than Meet With One Of The Two Leaders Who Matter Most?

Useful However For President Zelensky To Meet In Japan With Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Of The Republic Of India (2014- ) Given The Country’s Relationship With The Russian Federation.

He Is Not Visiting Japan To Express Gratitude To Members Of The G7.  He Is Visiting Japan To Demand More.

He Will Not Be Satisfied With F-16 Fighter Aircraft- Demanding Simultaneous Training And Access For F-22 And F-35 Fighter Aircraft.  His Position:  Why Should Ukraine Have NATO Leftovers.  Ukraine Is Fighting For NATO.  Ukraine Is NATO.

He Will Not Be Satisfied Until NATO-Member Forces Are In Ukraine Directly In Combat With Forces From The Russian Federation.

Is This More About Personal Ego?  President Zelensky’s Actions Sometimes Suggest He Believes Ukraine Should Be A Member Of A Reconstituted G8 And Member Of The G20.  Replacing The Russian Federation In Each Group.  Replacing The Russian Federation As A Member Of United Nations Security Council.

President Zelensky Has An Insatiable Appetite For Money- A Financial Vampire Seeking To Suck Money From Every Taxpayer.

President Zelensky Should Next Be On His Way To Beijing To Meet With President Xi Jinping After Dissing His Special Envoy During His Visit To Kyiv.

If President Xi Declines, Than President Zelensky Should Be Public About It.  Very Public. The Optics Matter.  The Effort Matters.

  • Countries visited by Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine (2019- ), since 24 February 2022: United States, United Kingdom (twice), France (twice), Belgium, Finland, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Italy, city-state Vatican, Saudi Arabia, and Japan.

Hiroshima West Airport (HIW) is the nearest airport to Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK).  The airport nearest to PEK from the border of Poland with Ukraine is Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport (RZE).  Approximately five hours from HIW to PEK.  Approximately ten hours from PEK to RZE.

There are today two individuals who qualify as the most instrumental to the outcome of Russian Federation-Ukraine war:  The first is the person who started it: Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation (2000-2008; 2012- ).  The second is the person whose government continues to provide commercial, economic, financial, political, and reportedly military engagement with the public sector and private sector in the Russian Federation: is Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China (2013- ).

For a head of state who has focused intently since 24 February 2022 upon optics, upon performance, upon presentation, upon often uncomfortable filter-less communications, President Zelensky should not forgo a visit to Beijing and an audience with President Xi Jinping.

With the government of Ukraine immensely focused upon optics- images, surprising that President Zelensky met this week with the personal envoy of President Xi Jinping, but neither officially confirmed the meeting nor provided an image of the meeting.

The government of the People’s Republic of China, and the citizens of the People’s Republic of China, are keenly focused upon optics, upon symbols- and focus intently looking for the slightest insult.

The government of Ukraine needs assistance, needs support from as many countries as possible. By not officially confirming the meeting with Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui and publishing an image of the meeting, President Zelensky reinforced his worst and most destructive tendencies- reinforcing a perception that seeking an end the Russian Federation-Ukraine war is not as important as obtaining anything and everything from as many countries as possible.  That is how the government of the People’s Republic of China will perceive it- the Russian Federation-Ukraine war has become a business for the government of Ukraine.  Critically, that is also how at least some of those countries who have not fully supported the government of Ukraine will perceive it.

Ukraine-China Trade Backgrounder

From Ukraine Business News (5/18/23): “In the first four months of the year, Ukraine's trade turnover approached $34B. Most of Ukraine's exports went to Poland and China, the State Customs Service reported. In particular, in January-April, goods worth $20.3B were imported to Ukraine, and $13.3B were exported. The countries from which the most goods were imported by Ukraine: China with $3.2B, Poland with $2.1B, and Turkey with $1.5B. Ukraine exported the most goods to Poland at $1.9B, Romania at $1.33B, and China at $1.3B. In the total volume of goods imported in January-April 2023, 69% was accounted for the following categories: machines, equipment, and transport with $5.8B, fuel and energy products with $4.5B, and chemical industry products with $3.8B. The top three most exported goods from Ukraine included: food products $8.5B, metals and metal products $1.3B, and machines, equipment, and transport $1B.”

  • Ukraine exports to the People’s Republic of China: US$7.26 billion in 2020 and US$7.99 billion in 2021.  Ukraine imports from the People’s Republic of China: US$7.46 billion in 2020 and US$10.97 billion in 2021.

Reverse Preface

President Zelensky is an ordinary man encountering extraordinary circumstances.  If not for his conscious and flagrant disregard of political norms, many of those residing today in Ukraine may have been carrying Russian Federation passports and spending Russian Federation Rubles.  He is pushy.  He is insulting.  He is demeaning.  He is annoying.  His shtick is increasingly grating.  He has been successful due to skillful management of media and due to support (narrative buy-in) by media.  He will not however be president of Ukraine when some of what he seeks materializes- in part due to his treatment towards some heads of state and heads of government.

  • On 24 February 2022, the armed forces of the Russian Federation invaded and further invaded the territory of Ukraine in what Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation (2000-2008 and 2012- ), defined as a Special Military Operation [SMO] then on 22 December 2022 he redefined as a war.  The initial invasion by the armed forces of the Russian Federation was in part from the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

  • The war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine did not commence on 24 February 2022.  The roots began their trajectories on 20 February 2014 when the armed forces of the Russian Federation invaded the Crimean Peninsula and the area known as the Donbas Region (Donetsk Oblast and Luhansk Oblast).
