Three Prime Ministers, One Deputy Prime Minister, Two Foreign Ministers Visit Ukraine- But Still Too Unsafe Or Unimportant For Visit By U.S. Secretary Of State.

True Reason Is The White House Believes A Visit To Ukraine By Secretary Of State Will Provide Visual Rationale For US, NATO, EU To Do More To Assist Ukraine.

Examples Of Political Cowardliness.

Embarrassments- Greece Foreign Minister Visited Odesa, Ukraine; Turkish Foreign Minister Visited Lviv, Ukraine; Prime Ministers Of Czech Republic, Poland (and Deputy Prime Minister), Slovenia Visited Kyiv.

Someone At Foggy Bottom Believes A Visit To Kyiv By Secretary Blinken Would Be Too Provocative To Russian Federation.  Really?  If A Visit To Ukraine Is Too Provocative, How Does Foggy Bottom Define Sending Stinger And Javelin Surface-To-Air Missiles, Switchblade Drones To Destroy Russian Equipment?

Secretary Blinken Should Take A Walk With President Zelensky Along The Streets Of Bucha.

The ancient Greeks are regarded as first or among the first to create a democracy.  The word “democracy” comes from two Greek words that mean people (demos) and rule (kratos). One would think the United States Secretary of State would at least follow the example of Greece…  There is yet another opportunity this week

From The United States Department Of State (4/3/22):Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will travel to Brussels, Belgium, April 5 to 7, 2022, to attend the NATO Foreign Ministerial. At the Ministerial, the Secretary will have the opportunity to highlight NATO’s essential role in preserving Transatlantic security, including our joint efforts to hold President Putin accountable and promote a swift end to his senseless and destructive war of choice against Ukraine. The Secretary will discuss continued Allied efforts to provide support for Ukraine. The Secretary will also join a G7 ministerial meeting and hold additional discussions with other Allies and partners.”

On 2 March 2022, shared about discussions for a visit by senior-level government officials from the European Union (EU) discussing a visit to Kyiv.  “Discussions within some capitals include a proposal for delegations of senior-level government officials traveling (by air or rail) to Kyiv and then disperse throughout the city, which is an essential component of the proposal.  Then daring the Russian Federation to harm them.  There is an increasing belief that large delegations of senior leadership from European Union (EU) member countries (and perhaps others) would require the Russian Federation to pause military activities.  Ponder the optics of motorcades carrying foreign ministers traversing the city of Ukraine- with the Russian Federation military planners not knowing where they would be from moment to moment.  And, the motorcades of media representatives following along…It’s a high risk, high reward proposition and an optically effective strategy.”

That visit happened on 15 March 2022, led by the Prime Ministers of Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovenia, along with a Deputy Prime Minister of Poland.  All EU members and all member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).  They rode a train from Poland to Lviv and onto Kyiv.  Impressive.  This is a significant gesture as the original discussions were to have a group of foreign ministers make the journey.

The Biden-Harris Administration (2021- ) sacrificed once again an opportunity to do more than an official prancing about the pole that marks the border of Poland with Ukraine, as United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken did- wearing his navy blazer.

Mrs. Samantha Power, the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is thought of as media-savvy (and some share media-hungry)- a former journalist and former Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations during the Obama-Biden Administration (2009-2017). USAID should have an office in Lviv, Ukraine. Administrator Power should travel to Lviv and to Kyiv.

Do expect senior-level officials of the Biden-Harris Administration to visit Kyiv once the war has ended…  How helpful

ATHENS, April 3 (Reuters) - Greece's Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias arrived in Odesa on Sunday at the head of a humanitarian aid mission into the southern port city of Ukraine, the foreign ministry said.  The humanitarian aid was handed to the city's municipal authorities.  Dendias, 62, also aims to set up a continuous mechanism of distributing aid from Greece and to reopen the country's consulate in the city.  "The reopening of (Greece's) consulate will help distribute humanitarian aid and set up corridors for the Greek ethnic community to leave from any areas of Ukraine, if needed, via Odesa," the minister said after upon his arrival in Odesa, according to a statement from the Greek foreign ministry.

Missiles struck Odesa in the early hours of Sunday, the city council said in an online post.  Dendias said last month he planned to lead a humanitarian aid mission to the besieged city of Mariupol in Ukraine, where thousands of ethnic Greeks live, but intense fighting there meant the destination was subsequently changed to Odesa.  At least 10 ethnic Greeks have been killed and several have been wounded since Russia started attacking Mariupol. More than 150 Greek citizens, vessel crews and ethnic Greeks have been evacuated from the region, according to the Greek government.

Ukraine's troops have retaken more than 30 towns and villages around Kyiv, Ukrainian officials said on Saturday, claiming complete control of the capital region for the first time since Russia launched its invasion.  Russia has depicted its drawdown of forces near Kyiv as a goodwill gesture in peace talks. Ukraine and its allies say Russia was forced to shift its focus to east Ukraine after suffering heavy losses.
