At Arab League, President Zelensky’s Remarks Unnecessarily Included Criticism And Insult. Invited Guest Who Acted Like Scolding School Marm. Manners Important To Muslims- Particularly In Public

To The Arab League, President Zelensky’s Remarks Unnecessarily Included Criticism And Insult.

He Was An Invited Guest- But Acted Like A Scolding School Marm.

Manners Are Important To Muslims- Particularly In Public.

And, He Insults France And President Emmanuel Macron- But Readily Accepts Use Of France Government Aircraft.  Who Paid For The Fuel?

While Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine (2019- ), in recent months had presented an inconsistent restraint upon publicly criticizing (and in particular insulting) the governments (and their leadership) of countries whose actions are not in 100% lockstep with those of the government of Ukraine, on 19 May 2023 he reverted to his previous self.  In this instance criticizing-to-their-faces the twenty-two members of the Cairo, Egypt-based Arab League at their meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

  • Arab League members: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordon, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestinian Authority, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

  • Organization Of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC): Algeria, Angola, Congo, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.  OPEC Observers: Egypt, Mexico, Norway, Oman, and Russian Federation among other countries.

Unfortunately, there are some in the world and here, among you, who turn a blind eye to those cages and illegal annexations.”  President Zelensky

President Zelensky’s words were particularly egregious given the primary focus of Arab League members was the return to its ranks the previously suspended government of Syria- and Bashar al-Assad, President of the Syrian Arab Republic.  For the Arab League and its individual members, the resurrection of Syria and to a lesser extent it engagement with the State of Israel is far more relevant today than is the Russian Federation-Ukraine war.

These heads of state and heads of government represent monarchies or hereditary civilian leadership and do not take well to being lectured in public by a guest, and particularly one of the Jewish faith who has not-yet-completed one five-year term in office- in a historically corrupt country, although Arab League members are familiar with and not unimmured by institutional corruption.

President Zelensky’s message to the gathering was more reflective of a message that they should be honored and humbled by his presence rather than he seeking to make friends and obtain their assistance.  He was arrogant in some of his remarks where he should have been appreciative.

President Zelensky seeks assistance in a peculiar way- insulting those who have the commercial, economic, financial, humanitarian, and political means to support the government of Ukraine, and then demanding they provide assistance and inviting them to visit Ukraine.  However, as he has reiterated previously, he does not want heads of state and heads of government visiting Ukraine unless they bear gifts, tributes really.

What countries has President Zelensky since 24 February 2022?  United States, United Kingdom (twice), France (twice), Belgium, Finland, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Italy, city-state Vatican, Saudi Arabia, and this weekend, Japan.  At some point during the last fifteen months, President Zelensky has berated and insulted each of these governments.
