Immune From Embarrassment: US Secretary Of State Blinken Refuses To Visit Kyiv. Still No US Ambassador. Safe Enough For Four Presidents, Five Prime Ministers, One Chancellor, Three Foreign Ministers.

Today, the presidents of four countries visit Kyiv, Ukraine.  Each is a member of the European Union (EU).  Each is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).  They will visit with Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine.  The heads of state traveled together and arrived to Ukraine by train.

The Russian Federation commenced its attack upon Ukraine on 24 February 2022.  Three weeks later, an increasing number of government delegations are visiting Ukraine- Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa.  

Since 15 March 2022, four presidents, five prime ministers, one chancellor, one deputy prime minister, three foreign ministers, president of European Commission (EC), and president of European Parliament (EP) have visited Ukraine.  All of the countries are members of the EU; nine of the countries are members of NATO.

  • 7 April 2022 (Kyiv)- President of the Brussels, Belgium-based European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen; High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the EC, Josep Borrell Fontelles; Prime Minister of Slovak Republic, Eduard Heger (EU, NATO)

  • 3 April 2022 (Odesa)- Minister Of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Nikoloas Dendias (EU, NATO)

  • 1 April 2022 (Kyiv)- President of the Strasbourg, France-based European Parliament (EP), Roberta Metsola

  • 17 March 2022 (Lviv)- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mevlut Cavusoglu (NATO)

  • 15 March 2022 (Kyiv)- Prime Minister of Czech Republic, Petr Fiala (EU, NATO); Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki (EU, NATO); Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janez Jansa (EU, NATO); Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, Jaroslaw Kaczynski (EU, NATO)  

Ambassadors to Ukraine from Lithuania, Portugal, Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey, and EU have returned or are returning to their respective embassies in Kyiv; Estonia expected soon.  When will the United States Embassy re-open in Kyiv?  

Now that Kyiv has been deemed safe, next visitors: Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, which has the third-largest Ukrainian population after Ukraine and Russian Federation. United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of NATO.   

NATO Thirty Members.  “In 1949, there were twelve founding members of the Alliance: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States.  The other member countries are Greece and Turkey (1952), Germany (1955), Spain (1982), the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland (1999), Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia (2004), Albania and Croatia (2009), Montenegro (2017) and North Macedonia (2020).”   

EU Twenty-Seven Members: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.  

Prior to 24 February 2022, Istanbul, Turkey-based Turkish Airlines and Turkish Cargo, and Tel Aviv, Israel-based El Al Airlines and El Al Cargo provided multiple flights per day from Istanbul (IST) and Tel Aviv (TLV), respectively, into KBP, and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv International Airport- Kyiv Zhuliany International Airport (IEV) in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Three Prime Ministers, One Deputy Prime Minister, Two Foreign Ministers Visit Ukraine- But Still Too Unsafe Or Unimportant For Visit By U.S. Secretary Of State.   

U.S. Secretary Of State Traveling To Six Countries- Two Bordering Ukraine. He Should Visit Kyiv Too. Trains From Lviv To Kyiv Have Plenty Of Seats.
