Not About Him. Zelensky Should Not Attend Former President Jimmy Carter’s Funeral Or Trump-Vance Inauguration. Attending Will Be A Callous Effort To Usurp From The Focus Of Each Gathering.
It is Not About Him.
President Zelensky Should Neither Attend Former President Jimmy Carter’s Funeral Nor Attend The Trump-Vance Inauguration.
Attending Will Be A Callous Effort To Usurp From The Focus Of Each Gathering.
Refusing To Wear Appropriate Attire For A Funeral And An Inauguration Only Reinforce The Performative And Selfishness Nature Of His Costumes. A Funeral And An Inaugural Are Not Costume Parties.
President Zelensky Wants Everything Everywhere To Be About Ukraine- And If It Is Not, Then That Is A Mistake He Will Seek To Correct.
President Zelensky Remains Incapable Of Appreciating Not Every Gathering Is About Ukraine, Not Every Gathering Should Be About Ukraine, And Not Every Gathering Can Be About Ukraine.
His Goal Is Not To “Blend In” And “Be Humble” But Rather To Seek Attention, Seek Opportunities To Advocate, Seek Opportunities To Distract.
President Zelensky Is Salivating At The Prospect Of Photo Opportunities, Television Face-Time, And Conversations With Heads Of State And Heads Of Government Who Will Be Attending A Funeral To Pay Tribute And Attend An Inaugural To Celebrate.
For President Zelensky, A Casket And A Swearing-In Ceremony Are Like Crack Cocaine For An Addict. Too Good To Pass Up.
For Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine (2019-2025; term temporarily extended due to marshal law provisions), there are two irresistible marketing opportunities: 9 January 2025 funeral services in Washington DC for Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States (1977-1981), and the 20 January 2025 inauguration in Washington DC of Donald Trump, 45th President of the United States (2017-2021) as the 47th President of the United States (2025-2029).
He will need to be physically restrained from presenting himself in Washington DC, attired in perhaps black fatigues and black field boots in deference for the funeral and then khaki fatigues and khaki field boots in deference for the inaugural.
All other male attendees (including heads of state and heads of government and ambassadors) will be respectfully-attired in dark suits, white shirts, dark ties, and black shoes. President Zelensky has at least one black suit, white dress shirt, and black tie- see image.
President Zelensky would make an eleven-hour train journey from Kyiv to board the presidential aircraft, an Airbus ACJ319-115 ACJ (Registration UR-ABA with call sign Ukraine Air Enterprise) which is in Poland (usually Krakow International Airport) and then transported near the railway station in Rzeszow or to an airfield in Swidnik. The aircraft would land at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
As a head of state, he would require a substantial detail from the United States Secret Service (USSS) and other law enforcement agencies, all of which will already be stressed due to the preparations for the 6 January 2025 joint session of the United States Congress to count the electoral votes for president and vice president; the 9 January 2025 funeral; and the 20 January 2025 inaugural. Each gathering is deemed a National Special Security Event (NSSE) with the USSS as the lead responsible agency.
And with the vehicular attack on 1 January 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana, resulting in fifteen deaths and thirty-five hospitalized, and the explosion in Las Vegas, Nevada, of a Telsa Cybertruck at the entrance to the Trump International Hotel, the national resources of law enforcement agencies will be stressed further. Another reason for President Zelensky to do his part and lessen the burden of United States taxpayers- who have already contributed (borrowed) more than US$200 billion in support of Ukraine since 24 February 2022.
Hopefully, the Carter family, the Trump family, and the Vance family will politely, but firmly, convey to President Zelensky that his attendance is unnecessary, unappreciated, and unwelcomed.
President Zelensky has no legitimate reasoning to attend the funeral. The decision about attending the inauguration should be an easy one for President Zelensky- under what circumstances would he believe President-elect Trump would condone any upstaging of his second taking of the oath of office?
The government of the United States should be using taxpayer funds to protect United States citizens and United States residents rather than on President Zelensky.
